When Nada Surf Were Young

School is closed and you have an whole morning to get lost in the city of New York. You can discover each and every tiny crevice or just book it to Central Park and sit on a rock overlooking the lake for the rest of the day. Think about the prospects! New York band Nada Surf took a day off and embraced their city’s prospective in their most recent music video for When I Was Young.

Directed by Phil Harder, When I Was Youthful will take us through a tunnel of nostalgia for youthful occasions. The lyrics evoke memories of years extended forgotten even though entirely enjoyed. The video’s protagonist is a ‘fro-ed boy who’s determined to perform hooky from school and invest the day obtaining New York City adventures: a walk down Alphabet City to the FDR, a subway ride to Central Park wherever men and women make out on strategically placed rocks, and a block’s stroll to staying smack dab in the middle of Midtown. He climbs a ladder to a roof and has an amazing view of the Empire State Building, vibrant blue background in excellent place.

A track from their not too long ago released seventh total-length studio album, ‘The Stars are Indifferent to Astronomy,’ When I Was Young is a best refresher of the traditional Nada Surf sound.

Madonna’s ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” video premieres everywhere [Video]

Madonnas Give Me All Your Luvin video premieres everywhere [Video]
The music video for Madonna’s new single “Give Me All Your Luvin’” premiered Friday, just two days prior to the singer’s a lot-hyped Super Bowl halftime present (where’s she’s expected to perform the song live). And if you haven’t noticed the clip yet, Clear Channel is doing its finest to make certain you won’t be ready to get away from it.

In the video, which also features Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and a host of anonymous (perhaps robotic) football players, Madonna tosses aside the accouterments of motherhood and morphs into the late-1980s/early-1990s edition of herself, with white lingerie and brief blonde hair. The rest of the video is lighter in tone and slightly much more whimsical than is typical for Madonna, with Minaj and M.I.A. cheering her on with cheerleader pompoms.

The song, which seems on Madonna’s upcoming album, “MDNA,” debuted simultaneously on 95 Clear Channel-owned radio stations across the country, as properly as further stations in Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. at the same time Friday morning. And the plan is for numerous of people stations to play the song at the leading of every hour via the weekend.

Dream duets that will happen only in your head (even though you’re right, and they’d be AWESOME)

URBAN NETTLES 320 Dream duets that will happen only in your head (even though you’re right, and they’d be AWESOME)

Above the many years, entertaining myself on my evening commute has taken strange turns, like choreographing a synchronized swimming program to Britney Spears’ “Toxic” or envisioning a figure skating long program set to Johnny Cash’s cover of “Hurt” for Paul Wylie. But sometimes, I get a great concept: Last night, while listening to the duet “Surrender to Me” by Ann Wilson and Robin Zander off of the Tequila Sunrise soundtrack, I decided Jennifer Nettles and Keith Urban need to do this song, if only so I can hear Urban execute the guitar solo that kicks in about 2:45 in the music video below. Nettles can capture that ’80s urgency, whilst Urban can keep it grounded but still alluring. Yet another purpose I’m not insane: Richard Marx cowrote “Surrender to Me,” and he’s collaborated with Urban on three singles, two of which went to No. one (“Long Hot Summer” and “Better Life”).

What dream duets have you conjured up in your mind and remain convinced would be amazing? Pitch it under — including the song title — and possibly you will at least get some validation from fellow readers.

Turn on the Pretty Lights

If a music video experience could be a individual, this is 1 we’d be certain to fall head more than heels in really like with. More than rivers and via subway tunnels we go, catching glimpses of sunset forests, international passersby, flying doves, and emotive glances. We journey through Oslo, New York City, Vancouver, Warsaw, Detroit  (and a few other key cities) in the new Pretty Lights music video.

Quite Lights, also known as Derek Vincent Smith, is an electronic musical artist, also characterized by hip-hop dips and flavors of soul. A tiny trippy, his music is the excellent antidote to an oppressive presence of hustle and bustle, which is specifically why the video and track for We Need to Go On are so completely paralleled. We witness the insane, active elements of worldwide cities firsthand, but are concurrently so appeased by the beats, tones, and synchronized voices that are unifying the track. It renders any other city excursion score obsolete.

The video was a collaboration in between Smith and his imaginative partner and girlfriend, Krystle Blackburn. The gorgeous pictures in the footage had been taken from Pretty Lights tours to festivals and concerts all above the world. We can’t assume of tour footage being place to much better use. The We Need to Go On single and other Rather Lights music is available for totally free downloads directly on their site.

There’s been no rhyme or cause as to why, but the speculation is that it is visuals are also hot for Tv. It appears to be a bit much more tame than Ciara’s “Ride” video– but hey, to each it is very own. Nicki plainly is not the very first to have a video black listed from the network, as Game’s “Red Nation” was nixed as well as the aforementioned Ciara vid.

Nicki did share that any sort of ban wouldn’t be affecting the way her video would be displayed. “Can’t premiere on a network b/c its critical that my art is not tampered with, or compromised prior to you viewing it for the 1st time.”

Luckily with the world wide web these days, individuals don’t need to tune in to the Television to get their censored Nicki repair, they can do it online and take a peek the way that the YMCMB boss lady meant.
