Green Day Perform New-Ish Song “Cigarettes And Valentines” Live
Billie Joe Armstrong and the gang dropped two awesome bits of pleasure for Green Day fans during their tour stop in Denver, Colorado this week: one, that they’re recording a live album (sweet!), and two, the Bay Area rockers debuted a never-heard-before song, “Cigarettes And Valentines.” Watch the live video below!
Green Day – “Cigarettes And Valentines”
“Cigarettes And Valentines” isn’t exactly new, although you may have never heard it before. In the summer of 2003, the band recorded 20 songs for a follow-up LP to 2002’s compilation album Shenanigans, to be titled Cigarettes And Valentines. The master recordings, however, were mysteriously stolen from the studio.
Instead of starting from scratch, Green Day made American Idiot instead. So I guess you can’t be too upset that they didn’t record Cigarettes tunes. Especially now that it looks like the band is ready to release the songs off the lost album, even if it’s just performing them in concert or slapping them on their live album.
Kelly Rowland Is Infinitely Awesome In New Dance Jam “Forever And A Day”
Kelly Rowland Is Infinitely Awesome In New Dance Jam “Forever And A Day”
Kelly Rowland dropped the second U.K. single from her solo album, the euphoric David Guetta-produced dance track “Forever And A Day.” We’re not even going to bother comparing Kelly’s single sleeve with any other pop stars, as it’s clear you guys react favorably to just about every cover art Rowland releases. So let’s get right to the song! Hear it below.

Damn, girl! Kelly totally rips it wide open on the chorus with her shrieking-but-not-shrill “DAAAAY!” Once again, David Guetta + Kelly Rowland = musical gold. If we’re lucky, this will also be a U.S. single, but we know how infrequently mass American takes a liking to Europop tunes.
Armin Van Buuren And Sophie Ellis-Bextor Are “Not Giving Up On Love”
When Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s single “Bittersweet” debuted and peaked at #25 on the UK chart in May, it was disappointing to say the least. But perhaps “Not Giving Up On Love,” her second offering off her upcoming fourth LP, will give her the hit she needs. The dance jam is a dreamy collaboration (does Sophie do any other kind?) with DJ Armin Van Buuren, and you can give it a listen below.
Armin Van Buuren vs. Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Not Giving Up On Love
The opening lyrics to “Not Giving Up On Love” could almost be describing Sophie’s feelings about her chart fortunes over the past year: “I know you’re feeling restless, like life’s not on your side/It’s weighing heavy on your mind.”
The song is set to appear on both Ellis-Bextor’s Straight To The Heart LP (due out in October) and Buuren’s Mirage (September 10). The single, billed as Armin Van Buuren vs. Sophie Ellis-Bextor, will be released digitally worldwide this Friday (August 20).
Why not boost Sophie’s spirits by not giving up on her and downloading it?

Kid Cudi And Kanye West Re-Team For New Mixtape Track “Wylin ‘Cause I’m Young”
While we’re eagerly awaiting Kid Cudi’s dreamy Man On The Moon sequel, the one track that had us nervous is vageuly Rebirth-ish team-up with Kanye West,” the cheesy “Erase Me”. We just knew these two could do better, and they just did, though not for Cudder’s album. Check a defiant Cudi and Kanye, rapping over a creepy beat in the new “Wylin ‘Cause I’m Young”, below:

The track is part of Perajok’s G.O.O.D. Ass Mixtape project, coming out next Monday. Don’t sleep.

50 Cent Channels Mel Gibson And Gives Shyne A Verbal Beatdown
While promoting his upcoming Def Jam album Guess Who via a Ustream conference call, Shyne was pranked by none other than Twelve star/fellow rapper 50 Cent. Lucky for us, Mr. Curtis Jackson decided to film his shenanigans. Head below to watch him pretend to be a radio DJ and then ask Shyne what his problem with 50 Cent is, before letting loose with his own Mel Gibson-style rant on the Belizean hip hop artist over the phone. (Warning: NSFW)
Part we can’t stop replaying: when someone (doesn’t sound like Shyne) on the conference call mentions that Rick Ross is “the hottest artist at this particular time,” and 50 begins furiously punching the dial-in code.
Second hottest part: 50 Cent turning to the camera: “His music sucks. You heard that shit?”
If this all turns out to be a joke that Shyne was in on, we’ll be sorely disappointed.
Robyn And Natalia Kills Are All Hearts In NYC
After a national sprint that ran from transcendent performances to hilarious mid-tour remixes, Robyn wrapped up her heavenly All Hearts tour this week with two performances at New York’s Webster Hall. (Entertainment Weekly’s fabulous Leah Greenblatt suggested the night she attended might rank as the show of the year.) You can see live show pics from L.A. here, but below is one full-size pic you can’t see anywhere else: our Nordic ninja hanging out after her first Webster Hall show with steamy rising star Natalia Kills. Are we dreaming?
We thought seeing Robyn rock “Buffalo Stance” with Kelis was classic â could there be another collabo in store? Please?
