Drake helps make background on the Billboard charts becoming the 1st rapper to hold 11 amount one rap singles.

Canadian superstar Drake continues to take his profession to new ranges. The Youthful Money rapper-singer dropped his ‘Take Care’ sophomore album to a hugely receptive audience just a handful of months ago netting himself a platinum plaque, and just not too long ago surpassed the million copies sold mark for his Lil Wayne assisted smash single ‘The Motto.’

It appears like Drake can add another accolade to his prolonged list of achievements as he breaks the Billboard record for most range 1 rap singles on the billboard charts with 11. The record was previously held by Terrible Boy Records CEO Diddy with ten singles.

Drake’s list of singles contain his breakthrough single Very best I Ever Had, Forever, Say Some thing, Above, Fancy, Appropriate Over It, Aston Martin Music, Moment 4 Life, I’m On One, and his recent hit off of the ‘Take Care’ album Headlines.

Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne… it was bound to happen. Bieber, the teen idol that all rappers enjoy to perform with, would appear to be collaborating with Weezy for the Bieb’s up coming studio album.

“Believe,” Bieber’s following venture following his No. one Christmas set “Under the Mistletoe,” also capabilities production operate from Timbaland and Sean Garrett, but Bieber, who is updating followers consistently by means of Twitter, would seem specially excited about Lil Wayne.  Wednesday he tweeted “Good time in the studio last evening. Back at it tonight… oh yeah…and massive bro came by means of…and when I say huge bro I suggest @LilTunchi”  Lil Tunchi is Lil Wayne.

It is unclear from the Tweet regardless of whether Lil Wayne, who just released his video for “Mirror,” came by to chat, skateboard or really perform on the album.

As Billboard reported, Lil Wayne is just the latest rapper to join the cast of Beliebers:  Bieber’s previously worked with Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Kanye West and Raekwon.

Lil Wayne is exorcising some psychic pain in his new video for “Mirror.”

The song, from the deluxe model of “Tha Carter IV,” is the closest we generally get to a ballad from Lil Wayne, who even invokes Michael Jackson, when he says “No message could be any clearer, so I’m commencing with the man in the …. “ then adds, “MJ taught me that.”

The Antoine Fuqua-directed video opens with a close up of Lil Wayne’s closed eyes, tattooed with “Fear” on his appropriate eyelid and “God” on his left lid. That digital camera then caresses gradually down his painted torso. A shirtless Wayne begins developed some unseen masterpiece as red paint, symbolizing red blood, spills in rivulets.

As he seems in the mirror, he comes to that startling realization that’s shocking for any man–when he or she see how considerably he appears like his father–and, as Lil Wayne smiles, he also sees some of the beauty of his mother. In among, Bruno Mars serves as a greek chorus of kinds, chanting “Mirror on the wall/here we are once again/by way of my rise and fall/you’ve been my only good friend.

At the finish, it turns out Lil Wayne has been painting a rapper holding a mike, as each he and the rapper in the photo hold a messianic stance with their arms spread broad.

Final 12 months, Cory Gunz earned mad props for his rap on Lil Wayne’s ’6 Foot 7 Foot,’ a song whose visuals ranked first on The BoomBox’s checklist of 2011′s very best videos. So far, 2012 is off to a much less promising commence. As MTV reports, the 24-12 months-old rapper was arrested yesterday (Jan. 28) in his hometown of the Bronx, N.Y., immediately after being caught with a loaded firearm.

The Youthful Cash MC was picked up around 2PM, and whilst his father, veteran rhymer Peter Gunz, says police at times “like to make an example” out of youthful hip-hop artists, that does not seem to have been the case here.

“I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I am hearing from him is that they got a phone phone at the station saying they ought to ‘look out,’” the elder Gunz informed MTV. “According to [the officer], they did not know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him close to.”

He extra that it was “definitely an illegal search” and explained that the officer “felt negative about the circumstance” — probably because in New York, this kind of gun charges come with mandatory jail time.

This is Cory’s first such offense, and right after becoming taken to the 43rd Precinct, he was transferred to Central Booking. As of Sunday afternoon, he remained in police custody.

“To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it’s heartbreaking,” Peter informed MTV. “Whenever you see your kid in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it’s extremely hard. He’s walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your children go by way of what you went through.”

Rapper Cory Gunz was arrested in the Bronx on Saturday for carrying a loaded firearm. According to MTV News, the police detained Gunz yesterday afternoon close to 2 p.m. and found the loaded gun in his backpack.

Gunz, who was featured in Lil Wayne’s single “6 Foot 7 Foot” and Rihanna’s “If It is Lovin’ That You Want Part 2,” signed final year to Lil Wayne’s label Young Funds Entertainment. In April, he starred in Son of a Gun, a reality series on MTV that chronicled his rise in the music industry.

The 24-year-old’s father, rapper Peter Gunz, is claiming that the arrest came about as the result of an illegal search.

“I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I’m hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they must ‘look out’,” Peter Gunz informed MTV News. “According to [the officer], they didn’t know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him about.”

The younger Gunz is at present being held in Central Booking in the Bronx. He has no prior criminal record, but New York law mandates a prison sentence of three and a half a long time for illegal possession of a loaded weapon.

Laugh out loud with Ke$ ha in the comical video for “Sleazy Remix 2. – Get Sleazier,” which she officially released on her YouTube channel. Rather of enlisting her hip-hop collaborators Wiz Khalifa, André 3000, T.I., and Lil Wayne for the gritty visuals, the pop star casts some unexpected characters.

A drag queen performs Wiz’ verse, André 3000 is played by Napoleon Dynamite actor Efren Ramirez, and T.I. looks a tiny older (and whiter) as he raps in his wheelchair: “I was gonna take her, make her my new royal penis cleaner.”

Jailbird Lil Wayne has tapped fedora-sporting crooner Bruno Mars to join him on video for his ‘Tha Carter IV’ track ‘Mirror.’ The video is set for release in the coming weeks but in the meantime, you can preview Weezy’s newfound adore for abstract painting in the snippet under.

The brief clip capabilities Wayne, perched in front of a massive canvas. With a mixture of acrylics and spray paint, the MC churns out a red-and-black master print in the same vein as Jackson Pollock. Splotches and dots cover Lil Wayne’s shirtless chest whilst Bruno admires his friend’s newest work.

‘Mirror’ is rather probably a metaphor for Lil Wayne’s inner resentments — His shame in covering up who he genuinely is within. “I see you happen to be not happy/And I never see nobody else/I see myself I’m lookin’ at the/Mirror on the wall,” he raps with a lyrical rasp. Lil Wayne is finding ready to release the video for ‘Mirror’ — a collaboration with ‘It Will Rain’ crooner Bruno Mars — which is his newest single off of ‘Tha Carter IV.’ To get his fans pumped for the clip, Weezy F. Baby has dropped a teaser for ‘Mirror,’ and the video finds the rapper channeling his inner artist.

The ‘Mirror’ teaser video switches between near-ups of the two Weezy’s face as well as Bruno’s, while Mr. Carter furiously spreads red, black and white paint all close to. The painting appears to be cathartic for Lil Wayne, and he is even seen covered in the colours at specified points.

In the direction of the end of the clip, we get to see more of Mars, who is sporting a fedora as he sings in a melancholy manner. The crooner is illuminated by a practically blinding yellow light, as the shots interchange in between him and Wayne, who is looking pensive and in awe of his creation.
