At an age when most singers release an album of swing addresses, she’s placing
out a collection of innuendo-filled songs that out-filth Rihanna and Lady
Gaga.

Track titles on her album MDNA consist of Gang Bang, Ladies Gone Wild, I am
Addicted, I Do not Give A, I F***** Up and I’m A Sinner.

And right here is the Granny Of Pop becoming grappled by a load of American footballers
in the video for her comeback single Give Me All Your Luvin’.

She spends half the video flashing her leopard-print bra. Madge will sing the
track at half time in tomorrow’s Super Bowl American football final.

With their mum singing this kind of raunchy stuff, there’ll be no want for kids Rocco,
Lourdes, Mercy and David to have sex ed lessons — particularly if she leaves
the lyric sheets all around even though rehearsing for her tour.

Madge has currently had stick for the drug-referencing album title and everyone
hoping she’d tone issues down as she gets closer to her bus pass will be
disappointed.

Her most recent single is a good pop track with a beat by French DJ Martin Solveig.
And her new record label, Interscope, have wisely employed their pulling energy
to get Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. on board to give the song much more credibility.

The video sees Madonna pushing a pram close to flanked by the guest rappers in

This weekend Madonna will join the ranks of an elite group of superstars which includes Michael Jackson, U2, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Diana Ross and Tom Petty who have performed at the Super Bowl halftime show.

While many of the greatest names in music have played the display over the previous two decades, there are nevertheless some significant stars – like Eminem, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Van Halen and Pearl Jam – who have yet to do it. Our query for you is: Who should perform the Super Bowl halftime show following 12 months?

This weekend Madonna will join the ranks of an elite group of superstars including Michael Jackson, U2, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Diana Ross and Tom Petty who have performed at the Super Bowl halftime show.

While many of the biggest names in music have played the show over the past two decades, there are still some major stars – including Eminem, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Van Halen and Pearl Jam – who have yet to do it. Our question for you is: Who should play the Super Bowl halftime show next year?

The Band Perry, Bon Iver, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, or Skrillex will soon join a prestigious list of musical acts that includes The Beatles, Carly Simon, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and — skyrockets in flight! — the Starlight Vocal Band. What list is that? Why, the Grammy Awards’ Best New Artist winners.

The history of the Best New Artist is a complicated one. For every no-brainer (Mariah Carey, Amy Winehouse, Adele, pictured), there are some equally contestable choices (Paula Cole over Fiona Apple, A Taste Of Honey over Elton John) and plenty of controversy to spare. (Rule changes still didn’t help artists like Lady Gaga in time; the great Milli Vanilli debacle; Esperanza who?)

So has it proven to be beneficial for a musician or band to walk away with the Best New Artist Grammy, or is the award the kiss of death for a career, as has been rumored in years past? We’ll run down the Best New Artist winners from the past 25 years to see which recipients lived up to their title and what they’ve been up to since their win. The 54th Annual Grammy Awards, which determine the fate of The Band Perry, Bon Iver, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, and Skrillex, airs live at 8 p.m. EST on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 12.

Artist: Bruce Hornsby And The Range
Year Won: 1987
First Hit:“The Way It Is”
Who They Beat: Glass Tiger, Nu Shooz, Simply Red, Timbuk3
Where They Are Now: While Hornsby never had a hit quite as big as “The Way It Is” (the song that propelled him to his Best New Artist Grammy win, which was later sampled in Tupac’s “Changes” and is still heard in dentist offices the world over), the accomplished artist has still been a prevalent name in music. Hornsby, who spent the ’90s touring as the keyboardist for The Grateful Dead and penned hits for artists like Huey Lewis and Don Henley, has released over a dozen albums since his 1987 Grammy win, both as a solo act and with collaborators. The 57-year-old, who also can credit being a three-time Grammy winner, composer, and noted jazz and bluegrass musician over the past 25 years, continues to tour today. That’s just the way it is.

Artist: Jody Watley
Year Won: 1988
First Hit: “Looking For a New Love”
Who They Beat: Breakfast Club, Cutting Crew, Terrence Trent D’Arby, Swing Out Sister
Where They Are Now: You may not actually hear Watley much these days (unless your DJ is feeling especially nostalgic for “Don’t You Want Me”), but her influence is still very much heard. Her 1989 track “Friends”, which featured Eric. B & Rakim, set the standard for hip-hop and pop collaborations, paving the way for hit releases today like Katy Perry and Kanye West’s “E.T.” Since her Grammy win, Watley released eight more albums, appeared on Broadway, and, according to her website, is working on her most recent album and is writing her first novel.

Artist: Tracy Chapman
Year Won: 1989
First Hit: “Fast Car”
Who They Beat: Rick Astley, Toni Childs, Take 6, Vanessa Williams
Where They Are Now: The folk singer/ activist wouldn’t be a one-time Grammy darling. (Nor would she be a victim of Rickrolling.) Nearly 10 years after her Best New Artist win for Gen X’s poverty anthem “Fast Car,” Chapman earned another Grammy (she has four in total) for Best Rock Song for her bluesy 1996 “Give Me One Reason.” While Chapman has been better-known for her social activism over the past two decades, she has released a total of eight studio albums including 2008′s Our Bright Future, a Grammy nominee for Best Contemporary Folk Album.

Artist: Milli Vanilli
Year Won: 1990
First Hit: “Girl, You Know It’s True”
Who They Beat: Neneh Cherry, Indigo Girls, Soul II Soul, Tone Loc
Where They Are Now: Pop duo Milli Vanilli became music legends after their Best New Artist win, but for all the wrong reasons. After it was discovered that the voices on their debut album All Or Nothing did not feature their voices, rather those of unseen, anonymous vocalists, Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus became the only artists in Grammy history to be stripped of their honor. (The notorious lip-syncing stars were also dropped from their label and All Or Nothing was taken out of print.) While Pilatus (who once boldly compared himself to the likes of Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney) and Morvan attempted to revive their careers under the revamped Real Milli Vanilli and Try ‘N’ B, they never recovered from the Grammy controversy and remained a punchline. Tragically, Pilatus died at the age of 32. He was found dead in a Frankfurt hotel room after consuming a lethal amount of drugs and alcohol.

Artist: Mariah Carey
Year Won: 1991
First Hit: “Vision of Love”
Who They Beat: The Black Crowes, The Kentucky Headhunters, Wilson Phillips, Lisa Stansfield
Where They Are Now: Mariah Carey hasn’t left the spotlight once since her Best New Artist win. The big-voiced pop diva has remained equal parts record-breaking music industry powerhouse (she’s one of the biggest-selling artists of all-time, with an estimated over 200 million records sold worldwide and 17 no. 1 hits on Billboard) and tabloid fodder (her infamous TRL meltdown, her marriages, her twins, Glitter) who earned four more Grammys (along with a bevy of other awards) over the past two decades.

Artist: Marc Cohn
Year Won: 1992
First Hit: “Walking in Memphis”
Who They Beat: Boyz II Men, C + C Music Factory, Color Me Badd, Seal
Where They Are Now: Since his surprising Grammy win (Boyz II Men were unarguably one of the biggest acts of the ’90s), the singer-songwriter has released four other studio and independent albums, including 2010′s Listening Booth: 1970, which featured appearances from the likes of Aimee Mann and India.Aire. Still, aside from his breakthrough, the oft-covered “Walking in Memphis,” perhaps the most notable thing about Cohn is that he survived being shot in the head after an attempted carjacking.

NEXT: The rest of the ’90s…

Rihanna is one particular of today’s largest artists. Although a lot of might not put Ri in the same category as several of pop’s fantastic artists of the 2000′s, Rihanna has certainly made a spot for herself within of the pop game– and she’s creeping up quicker than you think.

For the “What’s My Name” singer to have gone on tour for virtually a year straight that crept up to exhaustion status– it all may be worth it. Just just lately, the Barbados native was labeled as the 1st female artist ever to reach two billion views on Vevo. She beat out stars like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Britney Spears.

RiRi tweeted to her “Navy” on her return house from her Hawaiian getaway– sharing, “First chic to EVER reach two BILLION views on VEVO!!!! Congrats #RihannaNavy!!!! #QueenzOfVEVO”

Now she’s all rested up and will soon be preparing to carry out with Coldplay on the Grammy’s in February. What will her up coming feat be?

The band were stunned when Gaga phoned to ask if they could come up with a track for her album – quick.

Lead singer Alex Trimble explained: “She stated we only had a week. That is not a lot of time, especially as we were on tour, but I couldn’t turn down this kind of an unbelievable chance. So we worked every single single day and evening and threw it collectively. I am truly proud of it.”

The end result was a remix of Electrical Chapel from GaGa’s Born This Way. It is good.

Bummer, little monsters! In spite of reports of ‘Heavy Metal Lover’ as Lady Gaga’s up coming single, an exec from her label, Interscope Records, nixed the rumors and then some.

In the ‘Ask Billboard‘ characteristic, a Gaga fan wrote in suggesting that her track ‘Scheiße’ must be released as a single. Nonetheless, not only will ‘Scheiße’ not be released as a single, but neither will any of the other remaining tracks. The label executive informed Billboard that he is “not conscious of any latest plans for another single from the album.” Taking into consideration that these kinds of decisions are generally created way in advance, it doesn’t bode effectively for followers of that song nor of ‘Heavy Metal Lover.’

The news follows sluggish sales of her most current single, ‘Marry the Night.’ Although her earlier ‘Born This Way’ tracks have loved top rated 10 good results (the title track hit No. one, ‘Judas’ No. 10, ‘Edge of Glory’ No. 3 and ‘You and I’ No. 6), ‘Marry’ peaked at No. 29 on the Hot 100. Final week, it was stuck at No. 53, whilst this week is slid even further down to No. 65. It is the initial Gaga single (out of a whopping 11!) not to break the top 10 — even after she slashed get rates on the song.

A French music website at first reported that ‘Heavy Metal Lover’ would be released as Gaga’s sixth single, but it seems these rumors were false — however it is possible that ‘Lover’ will be released as a single abroad. Perhaps time will inform!

But do not be concerned, minor monsters. Your mother promised a new album in 2012, so it will not be extended till she graces our airwaves again. Paws up!

Luke James serenaded us with his vocal stylings in last week’s Burning Up function but now The Lava Lizard will introduce you to his severe opposite. Iggy Azalea has roared into the music scene as the most recent addition to the female Hip-Hop movement and judging by the buzz across the business, she is primed to go additional than many of her peers.

The 21-year old Azalea was born in Australia and perfected her rap capabilities by listening to the material of Tupac, Kanye West and Andre 3000. Following the release of her ‘Ignorant Art’ mixtape in September 2011, she captured the interest of music executives at Island Def Jam but she at some point signed with Interscope Records, thus joining the ranks of Eminem and Lady Gaga at the label.

Nevertheless, do not count on Azalea to adhere to the Hip-Pop antics of Nicki Minaj. Rather, she drops rhymes comparable to a youthful Foxy Brown or Eve as her focus remains on lyrics as a substitute of wacky voices and cartoonish antics.

Watch Azalea’s video for ‘The Last Song’ below:

Azalea is the kind of female rapper that business demands at this point. She is remarkably talented and irrespective of her evident sex appeal, her lyrics are the main concentrate of her artistry. At least, for now, we will not have to worry about her donning a pink wig, creating random noises on a track and calling it “rap.”

Bonus: listen to Azalea’s raunchy ‘Pu$ $ y’ from ‘Ignorant Art’ below:
