Drake: Ex-Girlfriend’s ‘Marvin’s Room’ Songwriting Lawsuit ‘Without Merit’

Reps for Drake have denied allegations that the Canadian hip-hop phenom cheated Ericka Lee — a lady who claims to be both his ex-girlfriend and the co-writer of his hit ‘Marvin’s Room’ — out of songwriting royalties, TMZ reports.
“This claim is completely with no merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct,” reads the statement.
According to Drizzy’s peeps, Lee agreed to lend her voice to the track and at first sought no compensation. It was only immediately after she lawyered up, reps say, that she started asking for income.
Even though Drake reportedly presented her four to 5 % of the publishing, plus $ 50,000, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Lee filed suit, insisting she be declared co-writer of the popular track. Rather than settle, the ‘Take Care’ creator looks prepared to prove his case.
“Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now appears forward to becoming vindicated in court,” the statement concludes.

‘American Idol‘ has come under fire for primarily seeming like a glorified karaoke contest, but Aspen contestant Jairon Jackson disproved that all by himself. The 19-year-old restaurant host performed an original song for his audition and blew the roof off.

The rest of the panel concurred with J. Lo, sending Jairon screaming, jumping and dancing his way to Hollywood. He so enthusiastic that his golden ticket to Hollywood was ripped and crumpled by the time he exited the studio, and he really shattered a statue on his way out — not that he minds.
