Liam Gallagher tells Xfm that “the time is correct”…

Liam Gallagher has told Xfm that Beady Eye are going to commence playing Oasis songs during their reside exhibits from now on. 
 
“We’re undertaking Fuji Festival in Japan, which is in July. And we will be dropping Oasis songs for anyone who’s bothered.”

“The time is appropriate now, with no a doubt,” he continued. “We had been constantly going to do it, but we believed the [Beady Eye] album needed to stand on its personal. We’ve done some good gigs, we’ve carried out some shit gigs. And it really is time to drop them in now. Absolutely everyone else is. I really feel they’re just as much my songs as they are Noel’s. And if people do not like it, go to the bar or fuck off. If they do like it, jump up and down, let’s have a great time.”

Liam was talking to us immediately after getting named the Biggest Frontman of all time in the Xfm Legends poll on Xfm.co.uk. He also revealed that Beady Eye were also about to start off perform on their second album.
 
“We’re just demoing some songs, no rush, we’re going to make it right, possibly place it out next year. It’s sounding very uplifting and really rock and roll, but then I would say that.”

Josh Homme have taken out a lawsuit against 3 members of his old band Kyuss for using the group’s title.

The Queens Of The Stone Age frontman has launched the action alongside former Kyuss bassist Scott Reeder against singer John Garcia, bassist Nick Oliveri and drummer Brant Bjork, who have been touring beneath the title Kyuss Lives!

Rolling Stone reports that the lawsuit alleges ”trademark infringement and client fraud” more than use of the title of the influential heavy rock band, who split in 1995.

In a statement, Homme and Reeder said: “It sucks. To believe we went to a meeting in January solely to assist them with their request to continue Kyuss Lives! Only to find out whilst they looked us in the eye, Kyuss Lives! management and band had filed federal documents in 2011 in an attempt to steal the name Kyuss. What a needless mess.”

It seems like the rest of the band will not attend the 60s star’s memorial.

The surviving members of The Monkees have announced that they will most likely not be attending the funeral of singer Davy Jones, who died last week. 

“My understanding is they want to stay away from a media circus,” drummer Mickey Dolenz told Billboard. “The family members wishes to keep it very, very reduced-important and very, quite private. And you can picture as soon as 1 or two or any of us had been to display up, it would really rapidly be degraded into some thing that I don’t believe his immediate loved ones would want to offer with.”

Jones died of a heart attack on February 29 in Florida. He was lead singer with the “manufactured” 60s band, whose hits incorporated Daydream Believer, Final Train To Clarksville and I’m A Believer. The reunited group last toured in 2011, without authentic member Mike Nesmith.

Dolenz also additional that any additional function as The Monkess was now in doubt: ”We’ve had a type of unspoken, I guess, agreement more than the many years that if it’s just two of us finding collectively we in no way named it the Monkees. I can see us obtaining together to do a memorial concert, of program, but correct now I cannot envision anything else happening without having the Manchester Cowboy.”

The former touring shed of The Melvins is up for grabs…

A van featuring a “mural” drawn by Kurt Cobain is up for auction on eBay. The automobile is better recognized as the Melvan, which when belonged to proto-grunge band The Melvins, and has been blessed by a drawing of the band Kiss, scrawled in Sharpie by the late Nirvana singer.

The Melvins had been, of program, hugely influential on the youthful Cobain and he would occasionally ferry the band around in the 1972 Dodge Sportsman Royal Van in the late 1980s. 

The car is getting sold by super Melvins fan Ben Berg, who was provided the van by one particular of the band’s mothers. “You’ve got to recognize, I was just this enormous Melvins fan,” he informed Rolling Stone. “They were like gods to me.”

As a bonus, Krist Novoselic has also carved his name somewhere in the van. It’s anticipated to fetch anything up to $ 150,000, even though at the time of writing, the $ 50,000 reserve has not however been met.

It has been reported he is working with Mike Skinner from The Streets to fulfill his hip hop hopes.

He’s also been out buying tracksuits apparently, to “re-invent” himself as a rap artist.

A source informed The Sun “He has in fact said he wishes to be Britain’s solution to Eminem. He has told us he’s started out writing hip-hop songs.”

Doherty just lately exposed he has stopped injecting drugs, claiming he had been inspired by his new partnership and including that he’s acquiring therapy with a drug which suppresses withdrawl symptoms.
