Santigold Disses Lady Gaga for Her ‘Big Mouth’? — Video

Four years right after the release of her critically acclaimed eponymous debut, Santigold — formerly identified as Santogold — has returned with a video for a new song called ‘Big Mouth,’ which picks up where her debut, and in certain songs like ‘Creator,’ left off.
The whimsical Cody Critcheloe-directed visual serves as a ideal accompaniment to Santi’s new song, which was helmed by ‘Pon De Floor’ co-producer Switch and Buraka Som Sistema. ‘Big Mouth’ is precisely what you’d anticipate from that marriage of talents — a song that is aggressive each in tempo and message, calling out various gum-flappers and tooth-chatterers who could or may not be Lady Gaga, whose name Santi seems to be chanting at 1:27, when a blonde mermaid gets eaten by a cartoon tiger.
While ‘Big Mouth’ apparently is not the official first single from Santigold’s extended-awaited sophomore album, ‘Master of My Make Think,’ a “appropriate single” is mentioned to be arriving next month, with the album to stick to this spring, featuring contributions by Tv on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner and The Bird and the Bee mastermind — amongst other factors — Greg Kurstin.
“I even now have the songs that sound extremely electronic and clubby,” Santigold informed Billboard, in a 2011 interview. “But I have a couple ballads on this one — my personal sort of ballads, wherever they just sound big, like the way some outdated Kate Bush or Peter Gabriel songs have been…on this one song, we did a complete section that has a bottle employed as the percussion, so there’s layers upon layers of Greg Kurstin playing a bottle and virtually filling it with diverse layers of water, and stacking every single note. Mixed with a marimba and taiko drums!”

Will it ever end?!
Ever considering that Madonna hit the road advertising her film ‘W.E.,’ the press has hounded the Material Woman more than her thoughts on Lady Gaga. Now, following Madge’s Golden Globe win for ‘Masterpiece,’ two more divas have gotten involved — Elton John and his husband, David Furnish.
Prior to Madonna accepted her Golden Globe win, John told a reporter that she had “no f—in’ chance” at the award for Greatest Original Song — for which John was also nominated for his contribution to ‘Gnomeo and Juliet.’ When she did in simple fact win, TMZ reports that John was in the audience and “seemed p—ed off in the crowd when Madonna’s name was read.” We’ll attribute John’s beef with Madge to sour grapes. No one likes to drop!

Madonna (r.) has played coy about Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ and any similarities to her very own song, ‘Express Yourself’…until now.
Madonna is lastly expressing herself on Lady Gaga’s song, “Born This Way.”
Critics had pointed out similiarities in the hit 2010 tune and the Materials Girl’s 1989 chart-topper, “Express Yourself,” but Madonna herself had been quiet on the topic right up until Friday night’s interview on ABC’s “20/20.”
Madonna talks Lady Gaga, ‘Born This Way’ comparisons, and kissing Nicki Minaj — VIDEO
Madonna has in no way shied away from expressing herself, and in a new interview for 20/20, she finally answers one particular of the zeitgeist-iest issues of early 2011 (Far better late than by no means!): Was “Born This Way” a straight-up Madge rip-off?
According to reports, Madonna was at initial complimentary to Gaga, praising her talent for each singing and songwriting. But you know the lady can never ever resist a excellent diva-off, and eventually she went in for the cold kill:
“There’s a lot of techniques to look at it. I can’t truly be annoyed by it …because, obviously, I’ve influenced her…. When I heard it ["Born This Way"] on the radio… I mentioned that sounds quite familiar.”
She then stated that “Born This Way” felt “reductive,” and when asked if that was a great thing or a poor point, Her Madgesty smiled, said “look it up,” and took a sip of her tea.
Considering that she famously likes the press about as a lot as she likes hydrangeas, the singer handled silly queries about her 24-year-old dancer boyfriend with aplomb: “Behind the curtain, I’m just like everybody else.”
