Carrie Underwood Marries Mike Fisher
Carrie Underwood is a married woman! The 27-year-old country sensation tied the knot Saturday with professional hockey player, Mike Fisher.
“We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!” the newlyweds tell People.
The couple said their “I do”s in an ultra-private ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton lodge in Greensboro, Ga. Around 250 guests were reportedly flown by private planes to the festivities, not knowing where they were headed until they showed up at the airport.
Carrie and Mike met backstage at her March 2008 concert in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada — the city where Mike is a star player for the NHL’s Senators. The country star has since been to several of her hockey beau’s games, learning the ropes of the game. “They need to make the puck neon pink, because I’m having a hard time watching TV and following it,” she once joked with Chicago’s US99 radio station.
‘Bachelorette’ Contestant’s Lost Love Leads to Country Music

Ty Brown, ‘The Bachelorette’ contestant who was booted from the show earlier this week, didn’t find true love with Ali Fedotowsky, but he did find a new career opportunity. The Franklin, Tenn. native, who had dabbled in music while working full-time in medical sales prior to his appearance on the hit ABC reality show, now says he will devote all his time to his musical aspirations — thanks, in part, to ‘The Bachelorette.’
“On the second episode, I played the first verse and the chorus to this song ['Living in the Moment'] on the beach and got such a great response,” he tells CMT. “So when I got back to Nashville, I reworked it with [songwriter] Dave Turnbull and we’re so excited about the hype it’s been getting now.”

Are Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher going to the chapel this weekend? That’s what several Canadian and U.S. news outlets, along with several fan websites, are reporting.
Sources tell the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Carrie’s entourage began to arrive at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga. on Thursday. The Ottawa Citizen has a conflicting report that the ceremony will actually take place at the Augusta National Golf Club, a private club that has hosted the Masters golf tournament. And no matter where the Underwood-Fisher wedding bells will actually ring, all reporting outlets are in agreement that the wedding will be this Saturday, July 10.

Joe Nichols Learns to Savor Career Highlights
Filed under: Exclusive, Country News
Joe Nichols recently celebrated a multi-week No. 1 hit with ‘Gimmie That Girl.’ While occupying the country charts’ penthouse is nothing new to the singer, Joe says it means more to him now than ever before.
“I enjoy every minute, because there are going to be a lot of moments in your future that you’re going to wish you held onto longer,” Joe tells The Boot. “There’s been a lot of really cool stuff that’s happened to me throughout my career, and I remember everything, but I don’t think I savored every moment of it like I should have or like I do now. Everything that’s cool that happens, I look at my wife and I say, ‘We need to enjoy this moment right here! This is really special!’ I wish I would have done that more five, six or seven years ago.”

Jimmy Wayne Plays the Name Game in New Mexico
Filed under: Exclusive, Country News
Over the past few weeks, the residents of Pie Town, N.M. were buzzing about the fact that Jimmy Buffett would be walking through their little town in a matter of days. There was only one small problem: they were talking about the wrong Jimmy.
Jimmy Wayne, who has been walking across America to raise awareness for teen homelessness, passed through Pie Town in late June in the midst of his Meet Me Halfway campaign. One morning, the singer stopped in at the Pie-O-Neer Cafe off Highway 60 to grab a cup of coffee and was caught a little off guard with the welcoming he received.
“I introduced myself to the pie baker and the waitress, and I got this curious look in response,” Jimmy tells The Boot. “The baker said, ‘I thought Jimmy Buffett was walking through Pie Town. I made a Margaritaville Pie especially for him and wanted him to tell me what he thought.’”

Little Big Town, having just wrapped up the Country Throwdown tour, are gearing up to hit the road next month with Sugarland on the duo’s Incredible Machine tour. This marks the second time that Little Big Town have joined Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush out on the road.
“We were with Sugarland and Jake Owen two and a half years ago,” Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman tells The Boot. “That’s when we did [the collaboration on] ‘Life in a Northern Town’ together, which became a huge hit all in its own without any promotion at all. It’s going to be great being back out with them again.”
