Tickets are already on sale for the festival via the festival’s web site and Busta is slated to consider the stage on Saturday, July 14th.
Busta was a organic alternative immediately after he stopped in to support Q-Tip in the course of BHF 2011 and the YMCMB rapper will look alongside Brooklyn acts as element of the festival’s “… And Friends” notion, although it’s not nevertheless clear who the Brooklyn-native will be paired with according to the festival’s producers Brooklyn Bodega.
The festival’s President and Executive Director Wes Jackson explained Brooklyn Bodega’s motivation for asking Busta Rhymes to head-up the occasion and explained that his considerable occupation reflected the ambitions of the BHF. “One of the most exciting items that kept coming up when we talked about Busta in the office is all the diverse ‘Bustas’ there were… Just as Q-Tip was in 2011, Busta is the embodiment of what Brooklyn Bodega and The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival is all about. Diversity, inspiration, longevity all fueled by an undeniable adore for the music and culture… Men and women have been asking how we are going to leading last year when Q-Tip brought out Kanye. Check Out Jay-Z’s Performance of Beastie Boys’ ‘No Sleep Till Brooklyn’

There are a lot of Beastie Boys tributes on the Net following the death of Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch, but a Jay-Z overall performance of a Beasties traditional has resonated with some devotees. Gawker highlighted the clip on their web site so we figured you guys would like to “Ch-Check out It Out” (see what we did there?).
But very first a back story. In 2009, the Beastie Boys had been scheduled to headline the All Points West music festival in New Jersey. However, the trio had to cancel due to the fact Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch (R.I.P.) announced that he had throat cancer and would undergo surgery. “It’s a discomfort in the neck (sorry had to say it),” Yauch joked in a press release.
For Jay-Z, filling in for the Beastie Boys was a large honor and it would also mark the first time he ever headlined an American music festival. As you can see in the video under, Jay-Z, backed by DJs and a reside band, graciously kicked off his set with the Beasties’ hometown anthem ‘No Rest Till Brooklyn.’
Hov goes on to rap Mr. Yauch’s verse (“Born and bred in Brooklyn USA / My title is Adam Yauch but I’m MCA / A lemon to a lime, a lime to a lemon / sipping up ale with all the fly ladies“), which aids him segue into his own anthem ‘Brooklyn (Go Challenging).’
Jay-Z functionality was a fantastic hat tip to an incredible artist and humanitarian.

It seems like Jay-Z has located a new side gig when he’s not rapping on the mic. The rap mogul was spotted on a bulldozer close to the development website of the Barclays Stadium, which will be the new residence of the Brooklyn Nets.
Apparently, Hov was offered an inspection of the Brooklyn, N.Y. home on Friday (Could four) as development on the new stadium is due to be completed in September. TMZ was able to get footage of Jay-Z wheeling a bulldozer. Don’t be concerned, individuals, no heavy plowing was involved.
From the appears of the video, the ‘Watch the Throne’ rapper was truly standing on the side of the bulldozer as a challenging hat drove it all around the lot at 1 mile per hour. We guess as a precaution the foremen didn’t want the rap mogul to take care of the hefty equipment. However, it shows that Jay-Z is not just a figurehead in the Nets organization, but that he truly cares about the team’s new home.
This will definitely ruffled the collar of New York Publish writer Phil Mushnick, who stays unapologetic about his racist feedback towards Jay-Z and the Nets in his column last week.
Hate it or really like it, Jay-Z hopes to build a long term NBA franchise with the Brooklyn Nets.

I initial saw the Beastie Boys when they came to L.A. and played an afterhours get together. A couple of the guys from Jane’s Addction, Dave [Navarro] and Stephen [Perkins], had been with me. They had been enjoying instruments in those days – they had been sort of punk rock, and they had a reputation when they came out. We checked them out, and then of program when they exploded I remembered them.
They came up collectively with us, in a way. They were on the East coast and we had been on the West coast, but they came from Brooklyn – my family members comes out of Brooklyn, too, and they are Jewish, so that was yet another connection. I saw they were wild, but they had a side to them that was really intelligent and I wished to befriend them. So we had them play Lollapalooza in ’94, which could have been, prior to Chicago, the best Lollapalooza we’d ever carried out. They went out on the road with George Clinton and the Smashing Pumpkins were there, also, and it was certainly 1 of the highlight many years of Lollapalooza.
By means of the many years, I kept in touch with Adam. When they did the Tibetan Freedom Concert, they invited me to complete with Porno for Pyros and again, I got to know them a minor bit greater. I remember we would have these relay races via the hallways in the hotels with just our friends, and a bottle of wine as the baton. It endeared me to him and to the Beastie Boys. I kind of felt like they were family, but as soon as removed.
When I saw Mike D a couple of weeks ago, I asked about Adam and how he was. And men and women never know this, but I’d been making an attempt to connect with Adam to get him to come out and do another Lollapalooza. Immediately after a whilst, I just stopped hearing back from him. And of course they hadn’t performed because 2009, so not hearing anything at all wasn’t excellent news. I would request him about on the fringes, and I didn’t genuinely hear wonderful issues.
The last time I saw Adam, they invited me to play Rock the Vote to get Obama elected. I brought out Etty [Lau Farrell, Perry's wife] and we performed as PerryEtty. That’s a happy memory in which we hung out for a genuinely great trigger. From there, I would text him every single the moment in a even though, see how he was feeling. He would text me genuinely sort of sad things. He would say, “We’re giving up our studio. If you want to use our studio, you can use it.” I hung out with Tim Leary before he died, and he was giving away his apparel and stuff like that. It really is actually a really sad feeling it’s type of like an estate sale.
