Bill Ward cropped out of Black Sabbath images on band’s site
Bill Ward? Was he even in Black Sabbath?
If the band’s internet site has something to say about it, no. In what seems to be a nasty turn and an energy at revisionist historical past, the metal band’s homepage has cropped the drummer’s image from dozens of old photos, as if to recommend that Sabbath never ever had a drummer. As Brooklyn Vegan initial reported (right after a tweet from @sethcdiamond), the front page of the band’s website is totally Ward-free.
Black Sabbath’s upcoming reunion has been producing news of late right after negotiations in between Ward and the team behind the tour failed to attain an acceptable agreement with the drummer. Ward last week penned an incendiary open letter to the band and its supporters declaring his intention to skip the anticipated tour due to what he named the supply of an “unsignable contract.”
“I am unable to carry on unless of course a ‘signable’ contract is drawn up a contract that reflects some dignity and respect towards me as an unique member of the band,” he wrote.
The other members of Sabbath — Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi — responded with their personal press release, which read, in component, “We have been saddened to hear yesterday by way of Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our present Black Sabbath plans,” prior to including, “We have no selection but to carry on recording with out him despite the fact that our door is usually open.”
That door would seem to have now slammed firmly shut. Black Sabbath? Did they even have a drummer? Someone better guard individuals unique master tapes closely, lest Ward’s sonic pounding on “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” endure the very same fate.
Black Sabbath Cut Bill Ward Out of Classic Photos on Updated Website
BlackSabbath.com
When original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward finally made the official announcement that he would not be joining the band for what would have been metal’s biggest reunion, the decision seemed to be more business-related instead of personal. However, Black Sabbath have now made the split with Ward very personal, as pictures of the drummer have been removed from the band’s vintage photo gallery.
As reported by Ultimate Classic Rock, Black Sabbath unveiled a new background on their website consisting of vintage photos of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler. Due to some simple cropping however, Bill Ward was removed from the pictures not only for the layout, but in Sabbath’s gallery of classic photos. Although no other former Sabbath members are featured in the gallery, the sudden change after Ward’s open letter and Sabbath’s pleading the fifth has left fans feeling bitter and in some cases, disgusted.
Tom Conley, who runs the Facebook page 1,000,000 Black Sabbath Fans Say Yes to Bill Ward, posted this reaction: “Extracting Bill Ward’s face from all photographs on the website? That is simply one of the most dastardly, chickens–t things I have ever seen done in my 40-some years of watching rock and roll. Definitely the maneuver with the least class, and disrespect.”
Ward’s photos remain on the band’s ‘History‘ page, which still documents Ward’s place in the world of Black Sabbath.
Meanwhile, Ozzy Osbourne has also launched a new website, where you’ll be able find the three solitary Black Sabbath live dates, as well as the frontman’s ‘Ozzy & Friends’ show dates.

Ozzy Osbourne Documentary Is A Candid, Moving Look At A Complex Legend

By Zachary Swickey
Evaluation: It requires guts to generate some thing as intimate and private as “God Bless Ozzy Osbourne,” a new eye-opening documentary on the Prince of Darkness and his music legacy. His son Jack co-developed the film in an attempt to get rid of the unfavorable perception that is at times linked with the singer due to his much-publicized historical past of intense debauchery, and the outcome is a moving portrait by means of the eyes of a new-and-improved, sober Ozzy.
Starting with pre-show backstage footage of the man himself in a lot more latest years, Ozzy is identified working out and placing to use a vocal warm-up CD that was manufactured just for him (some thing you anticipate from Adele but not a metal god). The footage is dull and a total opposite of the image 1 generally has of Ozzy Osbourne’s backstage pre-display rituals, but that’s the point. The man is 62 many years old, this is his life now, and clearly he’s performing considerably much better taking into consideration he workouts and requires care of his voice.
The film then rewinds to Ozzy’s childhood, which is portrayed as a struggling time, but the vintage pictures show him as in no way noticing – consistently wearing a grin and pulling pranks to make other folks laugh. The film is rather light on explaining how he formed Black Sabbath, but does document their dumbfounding rise to the top rated (Jack Osbourne has said the DVD will consist of much much more footage), which was unheard of for a metal band like Sabbath.
It is clear how despondent Ozzy became when he was kicked out of Sabbath due to his out-of-handle drug use. The band was all he had and you can hear the sadness in his voice as he recollects the time, but he quickly discovered a new sense of purpose – guitarist Randy Rhoads. The two quickly became inseparable greatest buddies and their collaboration revitalized Ozzy’s career. The bliss did not final long as tragedy struck just a couple of years later when Rhoads died in a plane accident, which Ozzy heartbreakingly describes in the film as the day “a piece of myself died.”
The film then touches on the downward spiral Ozzy went into following Rhoads passing, but inexplicably fast-forwards past the 90s straight to a look at his 2002 reality show tv series, The Osbournes. Jack Osbourne explains that the show was filmed for the duration of the height of Ozzy’s alcoholism and that he and sister Kelly have been frequently on drugs themselves. Most people (along with myself) thought Ozzy’s funny moments from the show had been benefits of his past drug-use, but they have been really current troubles at the time of filming (it’s a startling revelation to unknowingly laugh at an individual suffering from drug abuse). After his son Jack reached sobriety, Ozzy was ashamed of himself and was lastly inspired to do the same and really stick to it for the first time in his life.
