Kreayshawn has hardly been in the rap game for a minute, but has landed a major deal with Columbia Records since her viral sensation “Gucci Gucci” hit the net. Now, the West Coast artist and former film major is talking about her next single, the whole movement- ‘Girl Gang’, and advice that Snoop Dogg has shared with her.
After signing a reported $ 1 Million dollar deal with Columbia Records, the Bay Area songwriter claims that she will still be able to have creative control over her movement and is excited to work with her Columbia family. Columbia is also home to mega artists Beyoncé, Adele, Wyclef Jean and Three 6 Mafia among others.
Kreayshawn’s Movement:
“we need a new age Spice Girls thing. I just think , s—, we just need some girl empowerment. Music has been kinda formulated, lately, I feel like. You’re told what to listen to and they kinda make it so it’s easy for you to deal with, not really brainwashing… I want to do something different and give women, like, be creative, be random, be an individual. I don’t want you to listen to guys rapping about having sex with you and girls crying about love songs. The movement is what I’ve been calling it: Girl Gang. Then we have a separate band thing going on with DJ Lil Debbie and V-Nasty, which is White Girl Mob. People are going crazy over that. Those are the little movements I’m working on.”
Adele Covers Rolling Stone: Speaks On Her Celeb Stan, Love For Odd Future x More
Post by Chelle Jones, Apr 14, 2011 at 4:12 am

Adele has got some of the best pipes to grace the music scene, and the 23 year old British singer is on the cover of Rolling Stone out today. The soulful singer is an open book in her interview, revealing much about her childhood, her love for red wine and good food, and her uber famous stan- Beyonce Knowles.
You’d never know that Adele suffers from stage fright. With a voice like that, you’d think she could conquer anything. She speaks on taking things one step at a time:
I’m scared of audiences, I get shitty scared. One show in Amsterdam, I was so nervous I escaped out the fire exit. I’ve thrown up a couple of times. Once in Brussels, I projectile-vomited on someone. I just gotta bear it. But I don’t like touring. I have anxiety attacks a lot.Her love for music spans farther than just melodic singers. Adele has got a love for They’re refreshing, but my fans weren’t happy when I posted their video on my blog.

Beyoncé Praises Adele: ‘I Feel Like I’m Listening to God’

Adele may be able to knock listeners off their feet with her powerful pipes, but when it comes to one of her idols, she’s the one who gets weak in the knees. The British songbird recalls meeting Beyoncé for the first time and the glowing compliment Bey bestowed upon her.
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer was overcome with nerves before the encounter. “I was about to meet Beyoncé,” she tells Rolling Stone, “and I had a full-blown anxiety attack. Then she popped in looking gorgeous, and said, ‘You’re amazing! When I listen to you I feel like I’m listening to God.’ Can you believe she said that?”
After calming herself down, Adele was inspired to create her own alter ego, a combination of Beyoncé’s Sasha Fierce and country legend June Carter. “I went out on the balcony crying hysterically, and I said, ‘What would Sasha Fierce do?’ That’s when Sasha Carter was born,” she says of the name she uses to pump herself up.
Adele is currently coasting on the success of her sophomore album 21, which has sold over a million copies in the U.S. since its release in February.
Album review: V.V. Brown’s ‘Travelling Like the Light’
The first track on V.V. Brown's debut album is called "Quick Fix," and that turns out to be something of a watchword for this young English singer: As the latest export from a supersaturated U.K. retro-soul scene, Brown figures the best way to differentiate herself from the likes of Amy Winehouse, Duffy and Adele is to keep her music moving at a breakneck pace; she waits until she's halfway through the aptly titled "Travelling Like the Light" before slowing the tempo to a groove that might be described as ballad-ready.
The result is a smart, sharp little sugar high, with Brown working her slightly scuffed vocals over zippy, high-gloss arrangements loaded with ear-candy detail. "I'm crying tears from my eyes that I can't deny," she sings in "Crying Blood," yet all her music does is deny those tears. If last year's underappreciated Noisettes record, "Wild Young Hearts," didn't satisfy your desire to hear what the Hives would sound like as a hopped-up R&B band, "Travelling Like the Light" certainly will.
Perhaps inevitably, Brown relaxes her grip toward the end of the album for a handful of supper-club slow jams perfect for future placement in some CW teen soap. (The weepiest one is called "I Love You," which should let you know what you're in for.) But even when her material blands out, there's a fresh-faced charm to Brown's delivery that sets her apart from the vintage-vinyl pack. She's the rare retro-soulster unafraid to act her age.
