Rascal Flatts have had hit after chart-topping hit consistently over the past ten years, making them one of the most lucrative artists in country music history. The band — Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney — acknowledges that they’re much more than a trio, as a lot of the credit for their success goes to their co-writers. So, they decided to throw those tunesmiths a big party in Nashville on Wednesday.

“It’s awesome because usually it’s the three of us writing with one or Jay is writing with one and I’m writing with two,” Gary told The Boot just before the festivities began. “These guys we’ve had history with for ten years, so it’s awesome to get a little spotlight on them for a change instead of sitting at one of our houses in pajamas trying to write something.
