Primal Scream Tour Announced Scotland
Coming off year and a half tour supporting the re-release of their 1991 album, ‘Screamadelica,’ Scottish alt-rock band, Primal Scream will play 3 Scotland venues in June.
The short tour will be a preparation for the band’s performances at Isle Of Wight Festival and Hop Farm Festival. However, they will be without bassist Gary Mounfield. Mounfield has given that left Primal Scream to play yet again with The Stone Roses.
In an interview with NME, lead Primal singer, Bobby Gillespie that he had asked Bez of Pleased Mondays to substitute Mounfield, nonetheless Bez declined. His decline to play was apparently due to the fact the Bez Cannot play bass. “I was at an awards ceremony and Bez said to me, ‘What are you going to do now that Mani’s [Mounfield] gone?’ and I stated, ‘Can you play bass, Bez?’ How awesome with that be? Bass and maracas! He was like, ‘I’d really like to do it Bob, but I can’t f***ing play!”
In addition to the Scottish tour and the Isle of Excess weight performances, Primal Scream is doing work on a follow up to the 2008 record, ‘Beautiful Future.’
