Adele raises middle finger at the Brit Awards

In an act of defiance against “the suits” who interrupted her acceptance speech for British Album of the Year — and probably to display solidarity with Super Bowl pharaoh bitch goddess M.I.A. — Adele flipped the bird to the crowd at tonight’s Brit Awards. The 23-year-old, who won six Grammys final week, had also picked up the Brit for Very best Female Artist of the Year earlier in the evening.

Adele explained immediately after the awards that the gesture wasn’t intended for her fans and that she wished absolutely nothing but the finest forrrrr youuuuu (as lengthy as you weren’t the one accountable for telling host James Corden to cut her off). “I was about to thank the British public for their assistance and they reduce me off, and I’m sorry if I offended anyone,” she explained. “But the suits offended me, so thank you quite significantly for all of your assistance.”

The network later apologised to Adele. Ha! Only in Britain! “The Brits is a live event,” ITV stated in a statement. “Unfortunately the programme was more than-operating and we had to move on. We would like to apologise to Adele for the interruption.”
