Most celebrities in Hollywood run the other direction when they see one of those double-decker buses packed to capacity with tourists hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars. Not Taylor Swift! The pricey-tree-scented country star took gawking one step further by bringing the bus to the lookie-loos, performing a brief concert for fans near the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. Fans had short notice after Swift tweeted about the same-day appearance: “If you’re at Hollywood and Highland around 4 today, my band and I will see you there.”

The waxy songstress flashed a lot of hand-hearts and humbly introduced herself and her band. “We were wondering if it’d be okay if we played a song for you,” she asked – as if she had any choice after dragging a crowd of roughly 5,000 to the heart of Hollywood on just a few hours’ notice. Obviously, the crowd assured her that that would, in fact, be just fine with them, and no riot ensued. (See, Bieber fans? Adoring your music icon in person can be achieved without calamity!)

Katy Perry has already appeared in promotional photos for her new “Purr”-fume looking like a sultry, yarn-hungry purple leopard creature from Avatar, and now the hue of the costume makes sense. Maybe it’s just because it’s Halloween weekend, but we can’t help thinking this purple kitty with bejeweled peepers looks distinctly evil! There’s no denying the festive-breasted chanteuse has gotten us curious to take a whiff of her new scent, though we’re a little afraid this bottle will scratch us if we even try to. Kanye West has finally finished his album, but the generous artiste isn’t through giving away tracks for free. (Maybe he’s just in a good mood after his short film Runaway recieved mostly positive reviews from critics and fans alike?) The latest G.O.O.D. Friday (more like G.O.O.D. Saturday) jam, “This Joy”, carries a soulful spin, compliments to soul icon Curtis Mayfield’s velvety vocals featured on the hook. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that Foxy Brown (or Jackie Brown, depending on what generation you’re from) herself, Pam Grier, appears in all her glory on the single cover art. Kanye, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Charlie Wilson and more throw it down, old-school, after the jump.

We love that Kanye loves his insanely ostentacious Horus necklace so much, he references it in his song. “Though the Jewelry’s Egyptian, know the hunger’s Ethiopian.” He then follows it up with another apparant theme of his album – his fight with his own ego. Or is it his Id? “This beat deserves Hennessy, a bad bitch and a bag of weed, the Holy Trinity / In the mirror where I see my only enemy.”

Another awesome West couplet for the ages: “”I never understood Planned Parenthood/ ‘Cause I never met nobody plan to be a parent in the ‘hood / Taking refills of that Plan B pill/ Another shorty that won’t make it to the family will.”

Jay-Z throws it down like usual, and Kid Cudi proves just how “over rapping” he is by contributing just a few positive lines on the track.
