Whitney Houston Will Not Strip Or Do Soft Porn For You, Folks
There’s an EPK promoting Whitney Houston’s current Nothing But Love tour floating around out there (just don’t show it to the Australians!), and it’s pretty much standard fare. Well, except for the part when Whit takes a simple question—about her comeback album I Look To You meeting with success, and what that means to her—and fashions her answer into a not-so-veiled jab at today’s current pop tarts. Grab onto your hats and watch Whitney go off below the jump.
“It means they want to hear someone sing,” Houston replies. “They want to hear—for all the years that I have been in the business, which is now going on 30 years—sing love to them. Not so much strip for them, take their clothes off for them or do soft porn for them…” (Hey, speak for yourself, lady!)
Oh, Whitney—let’s not get carried away. Remember when you were fun and threw the F bomb around in Grade A popcorn fare like The Bodyguard?
‘Glee’ Soundtrack To Feature Madonna Hits, From “Borderline” to “4 Minutes”
The Glee team is about to rock a stage (sort of) near you, and may even be hitting Broadway. That’s all in good time, but we’re excited for the all-Madonna episode set to air only a month from now on April 20. But looks like we don’t have to wait too long to hear the kids of New Directions tackle the Queen of Pop’s hits—the show is releasing a 7-song album for your listening pleasure an entire week before the episode hits the airwaves. Track list after the jump.
Glee: The Music – The Power of Madonna
1. Express Yourself
2. Borderline/Open Your Heart
3. Vogue
4. Like A Virgin
5. 4 Minutes
6. What It Feels Like For A Girl
7. Like A Prayer
You’ve got to love that Glee creator Ryan Murphy and his crack team of writers chose a song to represent just about each and every one of Madonna’s musical phases, though we sadly don’t see any tracks from the electro-heavy Confessions on a Dancefloor or the primetime-inappropriate Erotica—ah, can’t win ‘em all.
We already know Jane Lynch is set to “Vogue,” but do you have any guesses as to which Glee member will be singing which tune? We have a feeling Quinn the pregnant cheerleader (who already sang the hit “Papa Don’t Preach”) may be performing “Like a Virgin” just for irony’s sake.
Independence pays off for salsa singer Manuelle (Reuters)
Reuters – On February 19, salsa star Victor Manuelle co-hosted Univision’s Premios lo Nuestro Awards, looking dapper before a live audience of millions. The figure he struck had little in common with the painfully shy singer with braces who first gained national attention in the ’90s as a new face of tropical music.
